Gerard
Leary
Mar 28, 1961 — Sep 14, 2021
SOUTH BERWICK, ME - Gerard "Gerry" Leary, 60, of South Berwick, passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2021. Gerry was born in Brighton, Massachusetts on March 28, 1961. He is the son of John and Mona Leary.
He graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Management from UMass Lowell, an Associate's in Business Administration from Middlesex Community College, and an Associate's in Mechanical Design from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Gerry was happily employed at Turbocam International in Barrington, NH for the last 13 years.
He was a devoted husband, father, friend, and neighbor (by whom he was known for being shirtless in the yard). He always had a project whether it be home renovations, car repairs, or fixing any problem that would arise. He was our "frugal fannie". He had a lust for adventure, traveling across the country in his 1966 Ford Camper Special, visiting National Parks and various museums of interests. He participated in various types of competitive motorcycle racing, even holding a land speed record with one of his vintage motorcycles. He had an insatiable appetite for knowledge, constantly adding anecdotes to any conversation. He was always willing to provide a hands-on tutorial for any of your household or mechanical problems, and he never got discouraged.
Gerry was an avid softball enthusiast and the unofficial empire and number one fan to his daughter, McKayla. He had the ability to make any around-town trip into the best memories and was never afraid to visit any curious roadside attractions. His kind soul made even the smallest moments and conversations mean the world to old and new friends alike.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and their daughters Lauren Twomey, her partner Christopher Tobey, McKayla Leary and two grandchildren, Addison and Calvin; his parents John and Mona Leary; brother's Jack and wife Carol Leary, Nicholas and wife Jennifer Leary, Anthony and wife Jane Leary; sister's Colleen Leary and friend Christopher Sweetnam, Lou Sirois and partner Bernie Romani, Sabena and husband John Busa, Monique Leary and husband Alex Krummenacher. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
