Gordon Manson, 98, died on Friday, September 27, 2024, with the love of his family by his side. He was born on October 18, 1925, to William H. Manson and Marietta (Spinney) Manson.

Gordon married Lucille Lessard on September 29, 1951. They lived out their married life of 58 years in Somersworth, NH where they raised three children. He was a devoted family man. Before marrying, Gordon was a volunteer firefighter in Eliot, ME. He worked at Somersworth Shoe then moved onto a 40-year career at General Electric before retiring.

Gordon enjoyed traveling with his wife including taking bus trips with friends to Disney World and Graceland, and spending summers at Wells Beach. He was an avid fisherman and hunter which he enjoyed with his son Dennis. He also enjoyed tinkering with small engines, always willing to help the family with maintenance or repair.

Gordon is survived by his three children: Dennis and his wife Mona, Linda Dorris, and Donna Robidas and her husband Tony. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren: Becky (Manson) Patten, Christopher Drake, Erica Madden, Erin (Turcotte) Maskwa, Meagan Turcotte, and 8 great grandchildren.

Gordon was predeceased by his wife, Lucille, in 2009, his parents, and his brother, William H. Manson Jr.

We are grateful to the nurses on 3 West at Mass General Brigham (WDH) for the exceptional care they gave to Gordon. Also, a big thank you to his hospice team that made sure he was pain-free in his final days.

A visitation will take place for Gordon at Bernier-Pelkey Funeral Home, 49 South St. Somersworth, NH, 03878, on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 4-6 PM. A service will be held the following day, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Care for the Manson family has been entrusted to the Bernier-Pelkey Funeral Home.
