Gregory A. Rivers died on Friday, September 6, 2024 at his home in Kittery Point, Maine, surrounded by his family.   He was born on March 18, 1947 in York Harbor, Maine, the son of Avis (Bray) and Raymond A. Rivers.

Greg grew up in Eliot, Maine and graduated from Eliot High School in 1965. He was an Eagle Scout and served in the Army Reserve.  He completed the technician program at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and went on to work at SUBMEPP retiring in 2005.

Greg was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking and time at the family camp.  His greatest joy was spending time with his sons helping with projects and renovations and with his grandchildren attending their activities and building amazing snow tubing runs.  He will be remembered for his smile, laughter and generous spirit.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Jacqueline (Norton) Rivers, son Anthony and his wife Cheryl and grandchildren Willis, Tyler and Lindsay, son Jonathan and his wife Melissa and grandchildren Abigail and Isaac, sister-in-law Carol A. Rivers, brothers-in-law James Norton and wife Barbara, John Norton and wife Carol, and Jason Norton, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Dana L. Rivers.

At his request there will be no service. Care for the Rivers family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey & Son Funeral Home.
