Eliot - Ilene Nielsen, 97, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2017 at Langdon Place of Dover.
She was born on December 4, 1919 in Twillingate, Newfoundland. She met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Nielsen through her sister Grace and brother in-law Richard Taisey. The four of them were inseparable and their lives were forever intertwined.
Ilene enjoyed garden club, to read and knit. She was an active member of church. She also knew how to hunt down bargains and sweets. Most of all, Ilene loved spending summers at Bustins Island.
She was predeceased by her parents Bennett and Emma Young, husband Bob, sister Grace, brother in-law Dick and daughter Lauren Frisbee. Ilene is survived by her daughter Joan Webb and husband David of Florida, her son in-law Keith Frisbee, her beloved nephews Crawford, David, Robert and Jonathan, her five granddaughters: Holly, Kathryn, Carrie, Molly and Jennifer and 11 great grandchildren.
Services: A memorial service will be held at the J. S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, on Friday, May 19th at 10am followed by a graveside burial at the South Freeport Cemetery at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bustins Island Memorial Library, c/o Canu, 89 Temple St., Gardner, MA 01440.
