Portsmouth- Harriet " Jo" Taylor 95, of Portsmouth and Eliot passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Georgia on October 26, 2021.

She was born on October 16, 1926 and raised in St. John, New Brunswick Canada one of thirteen children to Charles and Mary Trott.

Harriet came to the United States in 1947 following her service in the Canadian Army. She settled in Exeter, NH then Newfields where she worked sometimes two jobs to raise her six children. Many of her work years were spent at Wise Shoe Company in Exeter and McCallum in Newmarket as well as Exeter Hospital.

After moving to Portsmouth in 1978, she worked many retail jobs finally slowing down to babysit her "extended family" Bradley, Elizabeth and Benjamin. She is survived by her six children; Betty Weiss (Bob), Debra Schimmel (Michael), JoAnn Cultrera (Stephen) , Jerry Stapleford (Ellen), Nancy Triano , and Peggy Terry as well as ten grand, seventeen great and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by two grandsons; Philip and Zachary and nine of her siblings.

Friends are invited to visit with her family on Wednesday November 17, 2021 from 4-6pm in the JS Pelkey and Son Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904 where a memorial service will be celebrated at 6pm.
