Kittery-Harry Thomas" Bud" Fisher, 96, passed away at home on October 3, 2022.
Bud was a proud Veteran of World War II. In the war he drove Marines ashore in landing craft in support of major amphibious battles that were part of the Allies Pacific Island Hopping Campaign. His last active duty assignment was on the USS Albacore (AGSS 569). For his service, he was awarded the Good
Conduct Award (Six awards), National Defence Service Medal as well as other metals. He served honorably in the Navy for over 20 years and achieved the rate of E-6 IC1 (SS). Harry's Navy Specialty was a Gyro Repairman. When people thanked him for his service he would say he loved every day he served in the Navy and would do it all over again.
After retiring from the Navy, Harry was employed at the PNSY as planner of Submarine Overhauls at PERA-SS until his retirement. He then became a Master Electrician as the owner of Fisher Electric.
Harry is pre-deceased by his wife, Margaret, his parents Harry P. and Mary Woods, his son Thomas R. Fisher and his sister-n-law Marjorie Fisher. He is survived by his brothers, Robert Fisher and spouse Rosanne Adams, Kenneth Fisher and spouse Peggy and his nephew/caregivers Michael T. and spouse Dolly.
Bud is also servived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the J.S. Pelkey and Son Funeral Home on 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, ME 03904 on October 18, 2022 at 11:00.
