Harry Douglas Paul, 73, of Stonington, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital following a brief illness

Born In Portsmouth, N.H., he was the son of the late Francis and Jeannette (Spinney) Paul and lived in Stonington for the past 35 years.

He was a man of many talents including as a shipwright for the Mystic Seaport until his retirement in 2011. Though he enjoyed his job building boats, he could often be found reciting his favorite saying, "If you work on boats, you don't want to own one."

In addition to his wife, Marion, he leaves his four sons, Francis Douglas Paul of Rochester, N.H ., Kenny Paul of Stonington, and Kevin Paul and Mike Lavalley both of Eliot, Maine; two daughters, Brenda Kinkade and Stacy Freeman both of Eliot, Maine, his three sisters, Joan Mckittrick of South Berwick, Maine; Debra Stephen of Florida; and Pamela Holton of Berwick, Maine; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Sharon McCloud.

Services – A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 5th, at the J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home, located at 125 Old Post Rd, Kittery, ME 03904.  A reception and luncheon will follow. Care of the Paul family has been entrusted to the J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
