Haydn Kirkwood
Kramer
May 2, 1991 — Jan 22, 2020
Kittery Point, ME – Haydn Kirkwood Kramer died suddenly and unexpectedly on January 22, 2020. Haydn was born in York, ME on May 2, 1991. He was the son of Kirk and Pat Kramer.
Haydn's birth was a challenge from the first moment on. He was born with a rare chromosome deletion which left him with multiple medical issues. He spent a good deal of his life in and out of hospitals, doctors offices, therapies, and rehabs after enduring multiple surgeries to improve his quality of life. He was a brave little fighter, who endured more than most ever would in a lifetime. His affectionate smile and soulful eyes engaged all who knew and worked with him. He graduated from The Perkins School for the Blind in June of 2011, and later transitioned to Waban Projects in Sanford, ME, where he live the rest of his years.
He above all, loved music as loud as he could turn up the volume. Water play, taking walks and swinging were some of his favorite pastimes. Riding on his fathers four-wheeler would make him shriek with laughter. He enjoyed his equine therapy at Carlisle Academy, mostly riding, however horse-grooming was not a particular favorite of Haydn's. He loved riding around in the car with the music blaring, eating French-fries and drinking root beer. He could never get enough pickles. He had a sense of humor and enjoyed being quite mischievous at times.
He will truly be missed by all who came across his path. Doctors, nurses, therapists, teachers, case managers, and personal care attendants, we thank them all for their dedication, he would not have come as far as he did without the love and care of the community.
The wisdom of Haydn was seen through the reflection of his eyes. He pondered silently. He taught us patience, compassion, and the true meaning of life without ever speaking a word.
He is survived by his parents, Kirk and Pat, his sister, Jessica Cofelice and husband Craig, along with their two children, Owen and Miles; big brother Dylan, all of Kittery Point, ME. Haydn has an extensive family, including his grandmother Norma Kramer, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, who live across the United States.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Wormwood Center at Waban in Sanford, ME, on May 2, 2020 from 1-3PM.
