Helen Mae Johnson 87, long time resident of Mousam Lake Shapleigh & Eliot Maine and Bare Foot Bay Florida passed away May 7, 2021. She lived a life with the abundance of love from three combined families.
The Wife of Rodney Johnson and former predeceased husbands Charles Timmons and Clinton W. Phinney Sr.
She was born in Portland, Maine on October 17, 1933 the daughter of Clayton George and Edna Hinds.
She was predeceased by her Sister Marion & husband Rod Blaney, her Brother Clayton & his wife Irva (Lawson)Hinds, her Brother in law Dick Simpson, Sister Helen (Green) Emery, her Son Mike Timmons Sr and her Grandson Mike Timmons
She is survived by her sister Betty Simpson of Portsmouth NH, her Brother Ronald & Charlotte (Tuttle) Hinds of Eliot Maine.
She is also survived by her loving children, Her Son C Wesley Phinney Jr and his children her grandchildren, Leighton & wife Erica, Clinton David, Carrie & Ian of Waterboro Maine and her daughter Lorrie (Phinney) and husband Eric Petersen of Madison Connecticut and their children her grandchildren Benjamin Petersen & Wife Teresa and her Great grandchildren Matty, Allie and Luke from Chicago IL. Granddaughter Kristen Petersen Dodge and her Great Grandson Andrew Dodge from Fayetteville North Carolina.
Her Second Marriage to Charles Timmons they shared the children Michael, Debbie, Kevin and Mary Timmons
Her Third Husband Rodney Johnson they shared the children Gloria & James Krochmal, Gaile and Milton Nugent, Mark and Mary Johnson and Terri Voth.
Including in their joys and shared blessings were their many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed swimming, reading, playing games, cooking, gardening, traveling, politics and family gatherings. She especially enjoyed her second daughters Cherie Chick and Debbie Timmons, an especially her Curesky, Cloutier and Canadian extended families as well as her countless childhood and lifelong friends.
Helen graduated from Eliot High School and later attended college at the University of Maine. She was a School Librarian, Head Start Teacher, and Marshwood High School Cheerleading Coach. She was a member of the York County Republican Woman's Group, and served on many committees at the United Methodist Church of Eliot. She volunteered for many years with her husband Clint with the Methodist Youth Fellowship.
Helen was a very kind and religious woman. She was a nurturer and a lover of nature. She was a driven intelligent and kind woman always putting everyone before herself, her family, her friends, strangers and neighbors. She was truly the most selfless person anyone could have ever met. She gathered and collected people love and relationships wherever she went. She was a caring and giving person who shared herself with all those she met and touched throughout their lives. Her door and heart were always opened for everyone and anyone who entered into her home and life.
The family would like to offer thanks to SMHC Biddeford and Sanford Hospitals for their efforts to save her life. We appreciated their medical professionalism and compassion to our family.

All are welcome to join and share in a Celebration of her life at a Christian Graveside Burial Service at Brooks Memorial Cemetery May 15,2021 at 12:30pm 1129 State Road, Eliot, Maine.
Due to current Covid-19 Restrictions and Guidelines, only family and close extended family are invited to small private service at J S Pelkey Funeral Home May 15, 2021 at 11:00am 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine.
