Kittery-?Helen B. Kiehl, 87, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, from complications resulting from Parkinson's disease. She was born in Kittery, Maine on October 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Bridges) Kiehl.

?Helen lived the majority of her life in Kittery. She worked for Continental Shoe in Portsmouth, NH for many years. In her early retirement, for several years, she worked part-time at the Market Basket store on Woodbury Ave. in Portsmouth. She often served as a volunteer at the voting booths in Kittery and was active in the planning of many Traip Academy class reunions.

?Helen will also be remembered and missed by her many friends in the community and specifically the residents of Meetinghouse Village in Kittery where she lived for more than 20 years. She loved the many years prior to her time at Meetinghouse Village in her apartment on Badger's Island in Kittery, with her cat, Princess, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Piscataqua River, its traffic, and the raising and lowering of the original Memorial Bridge.

?Helen leaves behind a brother, Charles Kiehl, of Rochester, NH.; a sister, Elinor Hannigan of Eliot, ME; a nephew, David Kiehl, of Wichita, KS; a niece, Diana Lavoie of Hanover, NH as well as grand nieces/nephews and countless friends. She was predeceased by her brother Lester Kiehl of Portsmouth, NH in 2011.

?At Helen's request there will be no funeral or calling hours. Friends and family are invited to attend a remembrance at J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road in Kittery, ME on Monday, January 11, 2015 from 3 to 5 p.m. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com.
