Kittery Point, ME - Hope Brinser Neilson,83, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 26, at the Hyder House in Dover NH after a long illness. She was born in Petersham, MA, on September 2, 1939, daughter of H.Ayers and Joan Brinser. She graduated from Radcliffe College, where she met her husband Alex, and received her Master of Library Science from Simmons College. She was a passionate reader, and was librarian at Rice Public Library from 1977-2005, where she continued to volunteer. She enjoyed traveling with Alex and friends, celebrated birthdays at Restorante Mossimo, and lobster rolls at Chauncey Creek Lobster with family. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Alex Slidell Neilson, and leaves behind her son, Matthew Perry Neilson, of Kittery Point, her sister Barbara Maniha of Reston, VA, her sister Mariana Sonntag of Cancun, Mexico, many nieces and nephews, her cat, May, many friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for the spring.
