Jacqueline M.
Anderson
Sep 5, 1931 — Feb 16, 2026
Jacqueline Anderson died peacefully at her home on February 16, 2026, at the age of 94. Her two daughters and son-in-law were by her side.
Jackie was born in Brunswick, Maine, on September 5, 1931, the second of four daughters, to Andre Bouchard and Claudia (McDuff) Bouchard. She and her extended family lived on Mill Street, now public property bordered by Swinging Bridge Park and Mill Street Canoe Portage. Jackie graduated from Brunswick High School in 1948 and went on to work for the telephone company. Jackie met Donald Anderson, also from Brunswick, on a blind date, and they married in September 1951. Don was a submariner and a veteran of the World War II Pacific theater, dedicating 20 years of service to the United States Navy.
Don and Jackie lived on or near several different naval bases on the East Coast before settling in their home in Eliot, Maine, where they raised their three children. Jackie loved the art of dance and eventually talked Don into taking ballroom dance lessons. They both enjoyed their Friday evenings with friends, waltzing and foxtrotting at a local club. When the children were grown, they did some traveling and then spent many happy years as "snowbirds," first staying in St. Augustine, Florida, then in 1993 they purchased a home in Leesburg, Florida, while continuing to spend summers in Eliot.
Jackie moved back to Eliot in 2012 to be closer to family. She was an accomplished bridge player and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, knitting, reading, crafting, and dining out. She loved animals, especially her little dog, Noelle, who was her loving companion for many years. She became an enthusiastic fan of the Ogunquit Playhouse and held season tickets for several summers. Jackie cherished her family; being with them and close friends was her favorite pastime.
Jackie was predeceased by her husband in 2006, as well as two of her sisters, Phyllis and Claudette. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Anderson, of Cape Elizabeth, ME, her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Julia Anderson of Rockwood, TN, and her daughter and son-in-law-
law Marcia and Paul Houde of Eliot, ME; her grandchildren Margaret (Anderson) Gonzalez and her husband Eduardo, David Anderson, Jared Karrer and his wife Silvia (Chiu), Trevor Karrer and his wife Jennifer (Esty), and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Irene Bouchard and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her personal caregiver, Juliana Gauthier. We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Beacon Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and commitment for the past several months.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation, in Jackie's name, to the animal shelter of your choice.
