James (Jim) Porter Elliott, of Eliot, Maine, died August 30, 2026. He was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, February 19, 1945. He graduated from St. Bernard’s High School, and trained as an industrial engineer at Fitchburg State College, earned a B.S. in accounting from Husson University (ME), and an MBA and an M.A. in Economic Development from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

He was the former plant manager at the COSTAR/Corning Corporation, Kennebunk, Maine and Director and General Manager at the Shape Corporation, Biddeford, Maine. Most recently, since 1995, prior to retirement, he was Director of Operational Readiness and Advanced Technology at the global NYPRO Corporation headquarters in Clinton, Massachusetts. He was also President of Elliott Consulting and Development, Kittery, Maine. His responsibilities required frequent global travel, living and serving in many locations throughout the world, including Russia, China, India, Singapore, Europe, and other locations.

He served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the Strategic Air Command’s combat intelligence service and received the Vietnam Campaign Service Medal. He was a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, member of the York VFW post 6977, and Eliot American Legion post 188. He was on the Board of directors of the Academic Industrial Research Foundation, and on the advisory board of the Cambodian Arts and Scholarship Foundation. He was a former member of the Great Cove Boat Club in Eliot.

Jim completed several triathlons and the Casco Bay Marathon, in 1985. He later enjoyed fishing in Maine, reading, and his wonderful companion dogs Max and Stanley. He leaves behind his beloved wife Margaret (Peggy), son Christian, and daughter Stephanie. He was predeceased by his father (Porter G. Elliott), mother (Irene Gordon Elliott) and sister (Janet Elliott.)
