Port Charlotte- James Henry Tarling, passed away peacefully, on August 6, 2017, at his residence in Port Charlotte Florida.

James was born on July 3, 1918. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 70 years, Avis Blaney Tarling, who passed away on December 23, 2011. It was "Bud's" request that services be held for them both together. James was also predeceased by an infant daughter, Lois Elaine Tarling. James leaves behind his daughter, Janis Lorenzen of Jasper, Ga.; grandsons, Kevin Garner of Knoxville, TN, and Christopher Garner of Jasper, Ga.; nephew, Bruce Trefethen of Barrington, NH, and niece Joyce Rorabaugh of Fairfieldglades, TN.

Services: A celebration of James and Avis' life will be held , at 1p, Friday, November 10, at JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine.  Members of the Masonic lodge will be present. The graveside services will take place immediately following at Orchard Grove Cemetery with military honors.
