Obituary

James F. (Jim Bob) Theiss, 76, of Berwick, Maine, died at home unexpectedly Saturday, March 27,
2021. He is survived by Julia Bruce, his wife of 28 years, his two sons, Steven J. Theiss of Nampa,
Idaho, and Timothy M. Theiss of Boise, Idaho, his brother Timothy B. Theiss (Bonnie), sister Jan
Wachowski (Bruce), nieces Paige Wachowski and Erin Wachowski all from Two Rivers, Wisconsin,
and many beloved cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean, and
infant daughter Jean.

Jim was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on October 5, 1944 to Frank and Angeline Theiss. After
graduating from Washington High School, in Two Rivers, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962 and
served until 1966. He was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam).

He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 291, for more than 50
years and worked as a Journeyman Wireman Master Electrician until his retirement in 2010.

Jim loved all things to do with airplanes. On the 100th year anniversary of the Wright Brothers flight,
he began training to become a pilot. He successfully completed his training and earned his private
pilot certificate the following year. Jim became a legend among the Idaho river rafting crowd when
he and a friend, John, floated in a single raft without a support team down the Middle Fork of the
Salmon River in Idaho. On subsequent rafting trips he would do his best to be one of the final four at
the nightly campfires.

Jim was a staunch supporter and stockholder of the Green Bay Packers. He
enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, boating, golfing, tinkering, and visiting with everyone.

A gathering of friends and family is planned on May 1, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. A private memorial
service will be held later this summer in the Salmon-Challis National Forest in Idaho. Care of the Theiss Family has been entrusted to the J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
