Kittery- Jane M. Wenck of Kittery died on June 11th 2023 at Portsmouth Hospital following a brief illness.  Born in the Buffalo, New York area on January 3rd 1938 she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ruth Freeman.  After moving to Franklin NY,she attended High School at Franklin Central School where she was active in chorus, theater, and both JV and Varsity Cheerleading.  She graduated in 1955 and took a job in Oneonta, NY working for Bell Telephone.  She met her future husband Airman Alfred Wenck while living there, marrying in 1957.  Their Air Force journey lasted for over 20 years taking them and their family back and forth across the country numerous times, living in several states and visiting over three quarters of the continental United Statesbefore settling in Kittery.  With the children grown Jane started working at the Coachman Motor Inn followed by work at Oneida Outlet Store remaining employed for a number of years before retiring.

Jane is survived by her oldest son Alfred and wife Lucy Wenck of Sarasota Florida, her daughter Linda Wenck of Kittery, 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Sr, her sons Thomas and Timothy, as well as her sister Alice and brother Robert.

A memorial service will be celebrated on July 16, 2023 at 1 pm in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904 followed by graveside services at 2 pm.  Online condolences may be made by visiting www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name.
