Janet J. Dennett, 85, of Kittery Point, ME, died on April 10, 2026, at her home surrounded by her children. She was born on November 22, 1940, in Fort Fairfield ME, the daughter of Austin and Edna (Kennedy) Johnston. She grew up in the county and later lived in Milford NH. She graduated from Milford High School in 1958 and attended Nasson College. At Nasson, she met her husband of nearly 62 years, Frank L. Dennett.

In her professional life, she worked for over 40 years as an insurance agent at the William E Dennett Agency in Kittery. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, step-mother Evelyn (Pinette) Johnston, her brothers Milton and Kempton Johnston, and sisters Medina and Frances Johnston.

She is survived by her daughter Katherine A. Dennett, her son Frank A. Dennett, her grandchildren Allison and Andrew Dennett, nephews Kevin and Keith Johnston, nieces Mary Dennett and Rebecca Bergeron, daughter-in-law Molly Dennett, brother-in-law Peter Dennett, and sister-in-law Jackie Johnston.

There will be no visiting hours or services. Care for the Dennett family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
