Kittery, Maine - Jeanne M. Gudjonsson, 92 of Kittery Maine died peacefully at her home on September 8, 2016.

Jeanne was born in LeSueur Minnesota on October 1, 1923. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Mae(Tousley) Huber. She was a vibrant woman with a lot of love and caring for others, as well as at lot of stron g opinions. She was an educated woman who experienced quite a bit in her lifetime.

She met and married her loving husband, Jon Gudjonsson, an Icelandic sea captain. They made their home in Iceland for a time. It was not easy back then, living in such a remote place after the war, but Jeanne was resourceful. They moved back to the US, to Rockland Maine, before settling in Malden Massachusetts. Where they made a beautiful home and a wonderful life.

She was a dedicated employee for Market Forge Manufacturing as an executive assistant for many years before her retirement. After her Jon passed, she continued to make her home in Malden for a number of years. She enjoyed the arts, education and literature, but most of all she enjoyed her family. She had a loving relationship with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Seven years ago she relocated to Kittery, Maine, at Kittery Estates, where she could be close to friends and family.

She is survived by her son David, grandchildren Jennifer, Kristin and David, five great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on September 24, 2016 at 10 AM in Saint Raphael's Church on Whipple Road in Kittery Maine with Fr. Scott Mower as officiant.
