Obituary

Eliot – Jeanne Thornton, 82, of Eliot, passed away on Tuesday, June 7th at her home surrounded by loving family and friends.

She was born on March 21, 1934 in Marlboro, MA to Edgar & Philinda (Tambling) Foisy.

She is predeceased by her parents and brothers Harold, Nelson and John Foisy.  She is survived by brothers Edgar Foisy of Boise, ID, Roger Foisy of Hudson, NH and dear sisters-in-law Jackie Freehart, Ruth Foisy, Marie Foisy and Jean Foisy.

Jeanne had 7 children with her first husband Ralph H. Blanchette and 3 stepsons from her second husband Everett Thornton.  She is predeceased by both husbands, her son Ralph L. Blanchette and great-grandson Elijah Brun.

She is survived by her children Brenda Banow, Pamela Lockwood, Laura Thornton, Roger Blanchette, David Blanchette, Simone Roy and stepsons Rick Thornton, Forrest Thornton, and Mark Thornton; their spouses Alex Banow, Mike Lockwood, Diane Blanchette, Sary Blanchette, Tim Roy, Alice Thornton, Jocelyn Thornton and her ever-loved former daughters-in-law Jean Harrington and Pam Curran; her 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was Auntie to her many nieces and nephews and "mother to many" warmly welcomed into her home.

It was Jeanne's greatest privilege to learn about Jehovah God and share her faith with her children and her community.  For almost 60 years she served with hundreds of friends in the Holyoke, Marlboro, Portsmouth, Nashua, Laconia and Kittery congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Services: A memorial service will be held at Kittery Kingdom Hall, 14 Dennett Road, Kittery, ME on Saturday, June 18th at 3:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the worldwide humanitarian and education work of Jehovah's Witnesses: Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., Attn: Accounting Department , 900 Red Mills Road , Wallkill, NY 12589 . www.jw.org/apps/E_QBrNGR or to: www.gofundme.com/kyla-mobility (for her young relative, Kyla Tracy).
