Obituary

Somersworth: Jeannette Eva Chick, 95, of the Labonte Apartments, 191 Maple St. Extension, passed away at the Colonial Hill Rehabilitation Center in Rochester early Tuesday morning after a long period of failing health. She was a life-long resident of Somersworth, born in this community on May 30, 1917. Ms. Chick worked for nearly 50 years at Somersworth Shoe Company, most of them in a supervisory position as head of the Stitching Room. She retired in 1980. After her retirement, she was a volunteer in the dining room at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover for 14 years and also volunteered at the Thrift Shop at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rochester. She loved music and dancing and was an accomplished crafter. She was pre-deceased by mother and father, Raymond and Lena (Dionne) Chick, who were also life-long residents of Somersworth. Members of her family include daughters, Marlene Quinn of Berwick, Raylene Drapeau and her husband, Kenneth of Milton, and Sharon Boynton of Colorado, a son Wayne Chick and wife Rachel of Rochester,. Grandchildren include Roxanne Bieniek and husband, David of Rochester, Heidi Pralow of Columbia, SC, Gina Cruickshank of Dover, Stephanie Bolduc and husband, Michael of Dover, Keith Chick of Dover, Lanine Blakeslee and husband, Chad, Corey Carignan, Shay and Evan Boynton, all of Arvada, Colorado, Great grandchildren are Kayla Cruickshank, Olivia, Alaina and Genevieve Bolduc, all of Dover, Kira Chick of Somersworth and Ava Currier of Gilford, Hannah and Sarah Bieniek of Rochester, Morgan, Logan and Brandon Pralow of South Carolina, Blake and Gage Blakeslee, Corey Carignan, Jr. and Matthew Carignan of Colorado, also, Numerous nieces and nephews There will be no calling hours. Graveside Services in Forest Glade Cemetery will be held in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South st. Somersworth, NH (www.bernierfuneralhome.net
