Somersworth - Jeannette (LaPointe) Doucet, 85, of Somersworth, NH passed away in Nashua, NH on March 28, 2017.

Originally from Berlin, NH, Jeannette graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1949, where she met Norman Doucet, her devoted husband of 55 years. The two married in1959, living first in Berlin, then Lisbon Falls, ME, and eventually settling in Somersworth, NH, where they raised their family and lived for nearly fifty years. Norman passed away in 2014.

Jeannette worked as a bookkeeper for many years, eventually retiring from the Somersworth School Administration office.  Jeannette took great pride in her French-Canadian heritage and enjoyed speaking French whenever she could.  She loved the outdoors and delighted in exploring many of the US National Parks with her husband, Norman, over the years.  She was an active volunteer in the church and schools, and as a senior, spent a lot of time doing volunteer work for the Community Food Pantry.  Her family was her greatest joy.

Jeannette is survived by her three children and their respective families:  Eldest son, Richard Doucet and his wife, Nancy; Daughter Melanie (Doucet) Ketelhohn, her husband Bob and their two daughters, Hannah and Lindsay; and youngest son, William Doucet, his wife Sharon and their two sons, Nicholas and Henri.

Services: A time of visitation will be held from 830-930am on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St, Somersworth, NH. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at, at St. Martin Church, 120 Maple St, Somersworth, NH.
