York-Jennie W. Hooper 98 formerly of Ferry Lane North in York passed into heaven on February 19, 2015 at Berwick Estates after having been cared for gently and compassionately by the staff for two years. Born in Tenants Harbor Maine on October 25, 1916 daughter of Rodney and Anna (Watts) Wiley she graduated as class valedictorian from ST. George High School in 1934. She attended Tenants Harbor Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was an active member of York Street Baptist Church. She worked as a telephone operator,and fish packer in Rockland. She retired from York Hospital in 1984 having served as part of Kitchen staff. Jennie was predeceased by her husband Wilfred. She is survived by daughter Judi Moulton and her husband Kenny of Cape Neddick, son Paul and his wife Sandra of Kittery Point; two brothers, Malcom Wiley of Tenants Harbor and Bradley Wiley of Rockland ; grandsons Randy, Dale, Chris, Matt, and Tim, 11 great grand children; several neices & nephews. A memorial service will be celebrated on Tuesday February 24,2015 at 11 am at the York Street Baptist Church in York. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the York Street Baptist Church. Care for the Hooper family is entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
