Obituary

Berwick- Jerrie A.D. Upton, 72 of Elmwood Drive in Berwick died on April 30, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones, following a hard fought battle against brain cancer.

Born on April 5, 1948 in Dover, NH he was a son of the late Arnold D. And Pearl M.(Taylor) Upton.

Following school Jerrie began a distinguished career serving his country, first as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War before joining the United States Air Force retiring as a  Master Sergeant after 22 years of service.  Following service to his country he worked in the management group for Hannaford Supermarkets retiring in 2008.

Jerrie met and married his loving wife of 46 years and together they settled in South Berwick Maine with their family before moving to Berwick, Maine.  He was an active member of Saint Michael's Parish , volunteer at Table of Plenty and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed any time spent on the water fishing, both alone and with his family. He was always present at any activity his grandchildren were involved in and adored time spent with them.

Jerrie is survived by his loving wife Phyllis J. ( Ronco) Upton and sons; Matthew and his wife Jennifer Upton, son Jeffrey and his wife Nicole Upton, grandchildren, Bryce, Jaxson, Parker, Xander and Chase all of Berwick Maine. He is also survived by his sisters Bonnie Leavitt, Patricia and her husband Paul Roberge and his brother Larrie and  his wife Kathy Upton along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with his family on Friday September 25, 2020 from 4-6pm in. The JS Pelkey Funeral home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904. A private Mass of Christian Burial in his church Will be celebrated and it may be viewed by visiting https://my.gather.app/remember/jerrie-upton After 4pm on Saturday September 26, 2020 with a public graveside service and Military honors in St. Michael Cemetery on Saturday September 26, 2020 at 12:15pm .
