Eliot- Jo Ann Pierce, 60 of Cove Road in Eliot died on July 21, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Fitchburg, MA on March 12, 1955 she was a daughter of the late Richard Darcy and Denise (Levesque ) Sheldon. She attended local schools graduating from St. Bernard High School in Fitchburg. Her first love was unquestionably her family, enjoying them and their time together was most important, she also enjoyed caring for her yard, her flower gardens and her cats. She enjoyed membership in the VFW National Organization and the American Legion Post # 6 Auxillary. Jo Ann worked for many years as a school bus driver for MSAD # 35 the Marshwood School District. She also worked part-tme at Hannoush Jewlers. JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband John Pierce and brother Timothy F. Sheldon. She is survived by her son Joshua Ableman of Portsmouth, NH; daughter Christie Ableman of Eliot, ME; sister Denise Simons of Austin, TX; brother Patrick Darcy of Avon, MA; sister Cindy Sprague and her husband Jim of Elgin, TX.; brother Steve Darcy and his wife Suzan of Eliot, ME; nieces: Julie Silva and her husband Greg, Stephanie Kliener, Shannon Buchannan and her husband Travis; Sherri Darcy, Darcy Sprague, Catherine Darcy, Raegan Foye, nephews: Shaughn Darcy and his wife Jenna, Charles Darcy, Owen Foye, Larsen Foye, and many great nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with with Jo Ann's family on Tuesday from 6-8 pm with a funeral celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
