KITTERY - Joan Anne Bridges, 79, of George Street in Kittery, died on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Durgin Pines Care and Rehabilitation in Kittery.

Born on October 27, 1936, in Chelmsford, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Harold and Marion (Galloway) Blodgett. Joan graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1954.

Joan met and in 1955 married her loving husband Thomas Bridges, Jr. Together they made a home and raised a family on George Street in Kittery.

Joan and Tom enjoyed travel far and wide. They enjoyed trips to the Island Kingdom of Tonga, Hawaii, Bermuda, Aruba, Puerto Vallarta and many trips to California to be with friends. They also enjoyed many years of wintering in Florida, visiting Hollywood, Orlando, Ocala, Marion Oaks, and Sun City.

Joan loved her time spent as a devoted wife, mother, friend, and member of St. Raphael's Church in Kittery.
Joan is survived by her husband, Thomas, of Kittery; two daughters, Lorraine Simpson and Linda Bridges; her granddaughter, Jessica Simpson; and her sister Dorothy Reardon.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Durgin Pines for the loving care they provided.
