Kittery - It is with great sadness that the family of John L. Doucette announce his passing on.  He passed away peacefully Wednesday July 13 ^th , 2022, at the age of 88, with family members at his side.

He was born November 9, 1933 in Freeport, Maine to John L Doucette Sr and Marjorie McDougal. Soon after they moved to the Bath/Brunswick area. He graduated in 1953 from Morse High School where he played and excelled in varsity basketball.

In June of 1954 he enlisted in the US Air Force, of which he made a career of and proudly served for 24 years, retiring from Loring AFB and settling in Kittery Maine.

Once he finished AF Technician school in Colorado, he married the love of his life Rita Pinette of Topsham, Maine. They were married for 48 years until she sadly passed away.

John enjoyed umpiring baseball, coaching basketball, family barbeques, telling jokes and was an active member of the Lions Club.

He was predeceased by son Phillip Doucette, as well as his wives, Rita Doucette and Barbara Howard Doucette.

He leaves behind his oldest son, John L Doucette Jr. of Jefferson, GA; daughter, Joy L Goupil of Kittery ME; son, Michael J Doucette; and daughter, Anita J Jewell of Concord NH; along with grandchildren – Allison, Dayne, Aaron, Samuel, Erica, Phillip and Sophie and four great grandchildren.

He also had two stepdaughters Barbara Robie and Lesley Hanslop and stepson Andrew Howard.

Services: A time of visitation will take place on Thursday, July 21 ^st , from 4-6pm, at the JS Pelkey & Son Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Rd, Kittery, Maine, 03904.
