Kittery - John P. O'Brien II, known to many as JP, passed away suddenly at the age of 48, on Saturday, October 28, 2017.

Born in Portsmouth, NH on August 20, 1969, he was the son of John P. O'Brien and Louise A. O'Brien of Kittery, ME.

John was a graduate of Traip Academy, class of 1988 and attended the University of Maine, Orono.  He was a tradesman, and most recently was employed as a Maintenance Technician for the State of NH. He had a love for anything to do with the sea, but his greatest passion was sailing.  He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and his dog Zeus.  He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his children, Shannon Mai of Hampton, NH and Emily Louise of Rye, NH; father, John P. O'Brien of Kittery, ME; sister, Shelly and her husband Christopher Boesch of Eliot, ME; nieces Shawna Boesch of Brighton, MA, Connor Janes of Brighton, MA , and Karissa Boesch of Eliot, ME, and nephews Nick and Brett Janes of Eliot, ME.  He was predeceased by his mother, Louise Ann O'Brien.

John's sense of humor, kindness, and generosity will always be remembered by those he loved and who were fortunate enough to be touched by his life.

Services:  A Celebration of his life will be held at the J.S.  Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Rd, Kittery, Maine, on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. The burial will be private.
