John E. Olson, 88, of Deertrail Lane, Berwick, Maine. A loving husband of 50 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Died at Wentworth Douglas hospital, Dover, New Hampshire. April 13, 2026.

Born April 18, 1937, in Chelsea, he was the son of Alfred B. Ason and Agnes (Everson) Olson. A graduate of Everett High School, he joined the Marines after graduation, then entered the food service industry as a chef at Chateau DeVille in Framingham, MA.

He is survived by his loving children: Son Mike (Dewey) Olson of Methuen MA.; Paul Olson and wife, Guine, of Sparks, N.V.; Robert Olson and wife, Chris, of Kittery ME.; and daughters Sharon Orchard and her husband, Robie, of Garner, N.C.; Marie Helka and her husband, Ed, of Dearborn MI.; and Susan Aversa and her husband, Sal of Everett MA.; 20 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his oldest son, Gerard Olson, and John Olson, and his grandson, John Olson. A memorial service will be held on April 30 at House of Hope in Berwick.
