South Berwick - On August 31, 2017, John Paisley Sr. quietly passed away in his home surrounded by his loving wife and children. John grew up in Kittery, Maine and graduated from Traip Academy in 1955. He served in the USAF from 1955 to 1959 and returned home to marry the love of his life, Beatrice, on June 13, 1959. They settled in Kittery where they raised their family of 5 children. He worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard retiring as a Test Planner after more than 30 years of service and was a Lieutenant in the Kittery Fire Department. John loved mountain climbing and climbed mountains all over the world with his wife and their hiking buddies and was a diehard Red Sox and Patriots fan. But his first love was always his family. He loved to spend time at the family camp in Hope, Maine relaxing and enjoying his time with his children and grandchildren.
John was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Theodora, his sister Elizabeth and her husband Harold Higgs. He is survived by his wife, his sons; John Jr. and wife Denise, Kraig and wife Cheri, Robert and wife Margaret, Timothy & wife Janette, his daughter Jennifer and her husband Russell Richmond, and his brother William and wife Marie. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit with John's family on Thursday September 7, 2017 from 11am to 1 pm in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03903 where a memorial service will be celebrated at 1pm with the Rev Brad Hirst officiating .
