Kittery Point - John Pearson was born in Cambridge, England on August 18, 1935 and died peacefully from brain cancer on Saturday December 9, 2017 in Portsmouth, NH. He was an artist, sailor, neuropathologist, gardener, nature lover, adventurer, avid reader, enthralling story teller, and had a great sense of humor.

John is survived by his wife, Sheelah, daughter, Emma, and  two grandchildren, Clare and Ryan, as well as three brothers and their families in England.

John's love of life spilled over to all who knew him. Many pursued their passions and dreams as a result of his encouragement. With this in mind, in lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor John's memory are invited to make a donation in his name to the Thomas Tarbell Memorial Scholarship, C/O Kittery Point Yacht Club, PO Box 373, New Castle, NH 03854. Doing so will enable children who wish to learn how to sail, but do not have the means to do so, to get out on the ocean. John's favorite place to be! John's request for no funeral services will be respected by his family.
