Kittery- John P. Soucy, 50 of Kittery, ME, died on March 19, 2015 at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover after a courageous eight month battle against cancer. He was born on MAy 21, 1964 in Portsmouth, NH, the youngest child of the late Fredrick F. and Marguerite R. Soucy. He attended Kittery schools, the University of Maine at Orono and Southern Maine Community College. He was a long-time employee of the Home Depot in Portsmouth. John was a thirty year survivor of renal disease, having undergone two kidney transplants in twenty years. He was a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega at the University of Maine at Orono, and was a long time Parrot Head. He is survived by his sister Martha J. Soucy of Smithfield RI, and his brother Frederick J. Soucy of Kittery, many cousins and good friends as well as the wonderful family of caregivers at Wentworth Douglass Hospital and the Seacoast Cancer Center who offered him so much kindness during his battle. Funeral Services will be held privately, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, The Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth Douglass Hospital 789 Central Ave Dover, NH or to the Maine Kidney Foundation. Care for the Soucy family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
