Obituary

Dover, NH - Joseph A. Bougie, 32, passed away Thursday, March 18 th , 2021 from injuries sustained in a car accident. He was born September 6 th , 1988 in Rochester, NH. He was the son of Arthur Bougie and Pam Leighton.

Joe was self-employed as a jack of all trades: painter, carpenter, flooring, singer and comedian. Joe loved spending time with his family, going on hikes, camping, going to the beach, fishing, afternoon naps and going on walking trails. He also loved cooking his specialties; pizza, calzones and buffalo chicken. His children were his pride and joy and he would have done anything for them. He also loved watching them play video games. Joe loved his dog Luna and cat Black Balls.

Joe always knew how to put a smile on someone's face and was there to help them when they needed it. He loved going to family gatherings and spending time with his friends, specifically Mike Murphy. Mike was Joe's most true and sincere friend. He was like a little brother to Joe and he had always wanted to look out for him. Joe's family couldn't be more thankful for the friendship Mike and Joe had and the bond they shared.

Joe is predeceased by his son Zachary Bougie, his Grandmother and Grandfather Rachel and Dennis Denoncour of Exeter, NH; his Grandmother Rose Papatola of Methuen, MA; his Aunt Diane Kays of Rochester, NH; his uncle Danny Papatola of Haverhill, MA; and his paternal grandparents Rheal and Rolande Bougie of Rochester, NH.

Joe leaves behind a large family that included his son Carter Joseph Rheal Bougie of Berlin, NH; Autumn Virginia Bougie of Sanford, ME; Nick and Cayden Braswell also of Sanford, ME; his fiancé of 10 years Amanda Braswell of Sanford, ME; his mother Pam Leighton and stepfather David Leighton of Epsom, NH; his father Arthur Bougie of Rochester, NH; his siblings Stephanie Murphy of Farmington, NH; Emma Bougie of Rochester, NH; his grandfather Normand James Papatola of Rochester, NH and his niece and nephew Harper Murphy and Gabriel Eldridge. Joe's paternal Aunts, Uncles and cousins include; Roland and Jeannette Bougie and their children, Collette Harvey, Nicole Basinger and Jacque Bougie; Pierre and Laurie Bougie and their children, Lexi, Tyler and Hunter Bougie; Jeannine and Brian McConnell and their children Brandon Morrill and Jessica Welch; Paul Bougie and his children Danielle and Katherine Bougie and Robert Turner; Michael Bougie and his daughter Diana Bougie; David Bougie; Diane and Daniel Kays and their children William Kays and Sarah Chemei; Theresa and David Lawton and their son Matthew Lawton; Marie Rose and Michael Iob and their children Sean, Savanna and Sierra Iob; Louise Larochelle and her children Christine and Jamie Larochelle and Daniel and Johnathan Woodworth; Lise Bougie and her children Wesley and Josie Emmond. Maternal Aunts, Uncles and cousins include; Donna and Mark Evans, and their children Rachel Brannan and Brianna Wiley; Paul and Debbie Papatola and their children Crystal Thurston, Ashley Carattini and Jeffery Papatola; Danny Papatola and his daughter Jessica Papatola.

Services: A time of visitation will be held from 4PM-6PM Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth, NH.
