Dr. Joseph Marfisi. Born October 12, 1969 - Died October 17, 2022
Joe was born in Perth Amboy New Jersey to Peter Marfisi and Victoria Del Carmen Cruz Marfisi. Joe was first generation American and was very proud of his Cuban and Italian heritage
Joe grew up in South Florida before moving to the Dominican Republic to pursue an education in medicine and after returning to the states he continued his education at Life University in the field of chiropractic medicine and went on to have thriving practices in both South Florida and Georgia.
Joe was the proud father to four sons Joseph Marfisi, Phillip Marfisi, Jeffery Marfisi and step son Dennis Svoronos.
Joe was employed as a RT therapist at Portsmouth Regional Hospital which he enjoyed very much and had great respect for his co workers and always a funny story to tell about something that happened on his shift. Joe also had a private practice in York Maine where he enjoyed many days interacting with his patients.
After moving to the Seacoast Joe met the person he called his best friend and love of his life Michael and they were married in September of 2020.
Even though time was not on Joe's side the time they did have together was spent living life to its fullest. Joe enjoyed exploring New England and spending time at the ocean. You could tell Joe was not a native to New England because he LOVED the snow and we can alll blame the Mothers Day 2020 snow storm on Joe because he took the scraper out of the car for the season too soon (LOL)
Joseph was pre-deceased by his parents and a brother Louis Cruz. Joe is survived by his Husband Michael McQuade-Marfisi His Sons Joseph, Phillip, Jeffery and Dennis. A sister Jeanette Cohen many cousins and many many friends and his beloved fur babies Chubbers and Bubbles.
Joe's family would like to thank all of his friends and co workers at Portsmouth Regional Hospital who were there with Joe in his final hours and made his transition from this life as peaceful and comfortable as possible. Thank you
There will be a celebration of Joe's life
