Obituary

Kittery - Joseph W. Moulton, 87, of 65 Manson Rd, Kittery Maine, died on February 4th, 2016 at Greenwood Center in Sanford, ME.

He was born March 8th 1928 in Eliot Maine, the son of Nelson L. Moulton Sr. and Marion Blake Moulton.

Joe attended local Kittery schools and was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater.

He was a graduate of New England Aircraft School of Boston, MA and was a licensed aircraft and engine mechanic. Joe worked for 32 years for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut and North Berwick Maine, starting as a mechanic tester in the experimental research division and retiring as a quality assurance supervisor in the company's engine assembly and test operations, retiring in 1983. He also worked for the State of New Hampshire DOT as a drawbridge operator from 1987 until retiring in 1993, then continuing until 2003 as a spare operator.

Joe was an avid collector of antique aircraft memorabilia and enjoyed attending and participating in aviation functions; was a collector of antique motorcycles and was an avid cyclist since obtaining his motorcycle license at age 15; was a member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America both National and Yankee chapters, often competing in such events. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting and fishing and spending time at his camp in Central Maine; was a member of the Southern Maine Fish & Game Club and a member of the American Legion Post #47 of Rollinsford NH.

He leaves his children: Joseph W. Moulton Jr and his wife, Chau of Enfield Ct, Michael Moulton of Somersworth NH, Karen J. Moulton of Avon, Ct, Sharon Clark and her husband, Michael of Kittery ME and grandchildren; Jason & Jeffrey Moulton of Enfield CT, and Nicole Clark of Kittery ME and many beloved nieces and nephews. He also leaves his two sisters, Charlotte Reinfuss of Largo, FL and Arlene Radford of Hampton NH.

Joe was predeceased by two sisters Mildred Miller and Virginia Roy and four brothers, Robert, Harry, Nelson Jr. and Stanley Moulton.

A Celebration of Joe's Life shall be held at a later date with family and friends. No calling hours.
