Eliot- Joyce (Evans) Budlong, 69 of Beech Road in Eliot died on October 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Exeter New Hampshire on November 28, 1947 she was a daughter of Vernon Evans and Doris ( Chapman ) Grover .
She was raised in and attended Eliot schools including the last class to graduate Eliot High School in 1966.
Joyce enjoyed her home on Beech Road for over fifty years making it a welcome place for friends and family to visit and caring for many children over the years.
Joyce worked in retail for many years including Seiko, London Fog and Aileen's in Kittery. Most recently following her retirement she enjoyed working for MSAD # 35 as a school bus monitor adored by the kids and drivers alike.
She met and married her loving husband William Budlong and together they raised a family. They enjoyed many Fall trips to Moosehead Lake Maine and loved to take pictures of the fish they caught while fishing together at Arrowhead Lake. She dearly loved her grandchildren and the special time spent at the movies with her granddaughter Kimberly. At home she always enjoyed a visit from the many birds she fed and admired outside of her home.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband William of Eliot, mother Doris Grover of Eliot, Daughter Diana and her husband Steven Pike of South Berwick, son John Budlong of Eliot, adored grandchildren Timothy and Kimberly Pike both of South Berwick, sister Joanne Gscheidle of Eliot and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father and brother Gerard Evans. Her life was made richer by the wonderful care from the nurses on the third floor at Wentworth Douglas Hospital and the staff at Southern Maine Hospice.
Friends are invited to visit with Joyce's family on Saturday from noon to 2 pm in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904 where a memorial service will be celebrated at 2pm with a time of refreshment to follow at the First Congregational Church Parish Hall 1361 State Road Eliot, Maine 03903.
