Eliot, Maine Joyce Elaine (Eaton) Hackett, 72, of Eliot, Maine passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on
Saturday, January 14, 2017
at York Hospital, York, Maine. She was born on
October 2, 1944
, in Lowell, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Walter S. Eaton and Doris A. (Sewell) Eaton. Joyce was a graduate of York High School, Class of 1963.
Joyce was a devoted member of the York Ogunquit Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women's Methodist group and a former member of the church bell choir. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She enjoyed crafts and always loved working the holiday craft fairs.
Joyce is survived by her children, Dawn Sevigny Watson and her husband, Bill of York, Maine; Thomas Hackett and his wife, Kim of Dover, NH; and James Hackett and his wife, Amanda of Independence, Missouri. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Catie Sevigny, Amanda Sevigny, Phoenix Hackett, Braeden Hackett, Sonia Hackett and Liam Hackett; a sister, D. Ellen Angwin of Buxton, Maine and her brother Walter S. Eaton and his wife, Paula, of Auburndale, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the York Ogunquit Methodist Church, 1026 U.S. Route One, York Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: (American Diabetes Foundation or American Heart Association).
