Obituary

Joyce A. (Wilson) Hilton, 79, of South Berwick, Maine, died unexpectedly on March 21, 2025, at Wentworth-Douglas Hospital following a period of failing health, with her family by her side. Born January 27, 1946, in Rochester to Joseph and Rena (Bartlett) Wilson. She grew up in Dover, graduating from Dover High School in 1963 and Mcintosh College the following year. She lived all of her adult life in South Berwick. She worked at Sears in Newington as a retail sales associate for over 30 years.

She was an avid knitter, crocheter, and quilter, with many of her projects displayed at the Granite State Fair, garnering her many ribbons. She was also a dedicated volunteer and demonstrator at the Fair for many years. One of her greatest joys was knitting purple and white hats for the Marshwood wrestlers from the time her grandson was wrestling to presently, when he is coaching the Junior High team. She loved traveling, both on cruises and in their motorhome - especially their annual trips to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Joseph and David.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, John, and her children, Ronald Mann of South Berwick.

Theresa McManus (Matt), of South Berwick; Kathleen "Katie" Hilton of Dover. Grandchildren Shamus of Portsmouth and Molly McManus of Dover. Stepchildren Amanda Hilton and Philip Hilton (Kim), and step-grandchildren Henry, Ben, and Zoey Hilton, all of Wilton, Maine. She will be missed by a dear family friend, Robbie Corriea of Dover. She is sadly missed by her dogs, Lady and Oliver.

Services will be announced at a later date.
