Judith A. Carr "Judie"

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Judie, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at the age of 85 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

Judie was born on December 10, 1939, to George and Clara Alley of Ellsworth, Maine. After graduating from Ellsworth High School, she attended Nasson College in Springvale, Maine. In 1961, she married Robert Carr and lived in Puerto Rico and at various military bases throughout Maine during Robert's Air Force service. They eventually settled in York, where they raised their family.

Judie had a green thumb, and her neighbors often stopped to admire and comment on her colorful flower beds. A lifelong reader, she particularly enjoyed the books of Charles Dickens and loved finding and displaying collectibles inspired by his stories.

Always energetic and determined, Judie worked in retail until the age of 80 and lived independently until the age of 84. Judie's sense of humor, intelligence, work ethic, and kindness made her a favorite with coworkers, neighbors, and everyone she met, right up to her last days with her assisted care team.

Judie is survived by her four children, three grandchildren, three brothers, and her sister, who will miss her dearly. A private family Celebration of Life will be held in lieu of a service.
