Kittery, Me. - Judith Ann (Gay) O'Reilly, 70, of Kittery passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at the York Hospital, York, Maine surrounded by her family. She was born at the former Naval Hospital at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on March 7, 1945. She was the daughter of Benjamin Gay and Pauline McNeill Guyette. Judy's greatest joy was raising her family - her four daughters and eight grandchildren - on the O'Reilly compound. She was very happy keeping an eye on everyone's comings and goings. She especially loved spending time with family and friends at Cliff Island, Maine. She also loved to travel and she and Dan enjoyed many years of vacationing all over the world - Scotland, England, sailing the British Virgin Islands, as well as many areas throughout the United States. While raising her family, she worked part-time at the Weathervane Seafood Restaurant in Kittery for twenty seven years. She also worked in her early years as a waitress for her "Uncle Teddy" at Teddy's Lunch in Portsmouth. Judy suffered for many years with Rheumatoid Arthritis; however, she did not let it slow her down. She enjoyed many family weddings, gatherings and celebrations. She was always the life of every event. She was always making others happy. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Daniel; one sister, Janice Terrio and her husband Jeff of Epping, NH; her four loving daughters and their spouses, Sherry and Norman Childs, Wendy and James Collins, Danna and David Eddy, and Tricia and Larry Kashmer. She was blessed with eight grandchildren; Eric (and Amy) Childs, Justin Childs, Jessica (and Ben) Briggs, Michael (and Alexa) Collins, Daniel (and Kelsey) Eddy, Reilly Eddy, Taylor Kashmer, and Matthew Kashmer. She was very proud of her three great-grandchildren; Benson James Briggs (her little donut stealer), Emmett Daniel Childs, and Leah Ann Childs. She was predeceased by both her parents. Friends are invited to visit with Judy's family on Tusday from 6-8 pm in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904.
