Eliot- Judith Roberts (Place) Pruett, 76 of State Road in Eliot passed away at her home on March 19, 2018.
Judy was born on September 19, 1941 in Dover New Hampshire, to Wilbur Harold Place and Mildred (Roberts) Place of Eliot, Maine. Judy grew up in Eliot and resided there her entire life. She graduated from Eliot High School in 1959. She then attended the Golden School of Beauty Culture in Portland, Maine and received her degree in Cosmetology in 1960. Judy owned her own beauty shop in Kittery, Maine for several years. Judy also worked as a bookkeeper at Greenwood Construction for many years.
She loved to knit, bake, and square dance and she loved family gatherings and cookouts.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard E. Pruett, Jr., her 3 children; Karen L. Webster and her husband David E. Webster of South Berwick, Maine, Sandra J. Garrett and her husband William J. Garrett of Northwood, NH, Stephen W, Pruett of Eliot and his companion Gail A. Kary. She is also survived by her sister Elinor Jane Brooks and her husband Charles P. Brooks of Kittery Point, Maine. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Laura M. Bailey and her husband Peter of Berwick Maine, Mitchell S. Pruett and his wife Kelly of Berwick, Maine, Andrew D. Webster of So. Berwick Maine, Robert S. West, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Strafford, NH, Morgan L. West of Northwood NH, and Matthew T. Garrett of Northwood NH. She also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren Emily Owens, Noah Owens, Mackenzie Pruett and Logan Pruett, along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with her family on Friday March 23, 2018 from noon to 1:30 in the First Congregational Church of Eliot UCC at 1363 State Road Eliot Maine 03903. A funeral will be celebrated at 1:30 in her church, with the Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Hoffman officiating. Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com .
