Obituary

To the joy of my enemies, on Saturday July 4th, 2026 I, Judith Lyn (Proctor) (Currier) Soucy of Eliot, ME passed away kicking and screaming at the age of 65 after a 6 year battle with cancer.

I was born in Lawrence, MA and immediately moved to Salem, NH, where I was raised by the most incredible parents (married for 67 years!) and a so-so brother (just kidding, I was lucky to have a great big brother). My parents owned Proctor’s Sunoco and Proctor’s Auto Service (Exxon), across the street from each other on Route 28 in Salem. My stellar career began at the Sunoco Station, where I cleaned bathrooms. I then brought that knowledge to the Exxon Station. From there I worked at Med-X and Bradlees.

I stopped working to raise my kids and began again in 1998 when I took a front desk job at the Hampton House Hotel in Hampton, NH. I worked there for seven years, moving on to Winchester Place Apartments in Portsmouth, NH. I finished my working career there after 17 years. My school years were just as stellar, graduating from Salem High School in 1979 with the high honor of being an average student.

I had a great childhood with wonderful parents, grandparents, big brother and friends. As a family, we took many incredible vacations, including to Canada, Florida and Wyoming.

In 1983, I married and had three incredible children whom I am extremely proud of, spread out over 13.5 years. I always said that if I had my children close together, somebody would be dead. I kid, I kid. In 2006, I met my fabulous current husband, who was with me until the end. I could not have made it as long as I did without his love and help.

I am predeceased by my wonderful mother Phyllis (Sirois) Proctor and my loving, funny father, James C Proctor, Jr.

I am survived by my husband Aleo John Soucy of Eliot ME, my son William “Bill” Currier, his wife Victoria and my adorable granddaughter Hailey (Grandmadukes loves you Haileydukes) of Dover, NH, my son James “Jimmie” Currier of Eliot, ME, and my daughter Samantha "Sam" Currier and her partner Iaan Snow-Shaw of Dover, NH. I am also survived by my brother and his wife, Steven and Karen Proctor of Cornish NH. Also my forever family: Eddie, Diane, Gail and Ann Currier, and many nieces and nephews. I love you all so much. Thank you for an incredible life. Lastly I would like to thank my family at New England Cancer Specialists in Portsmouth, NH. If it weren’t for Dr Devon Evans and his team, I wouldn't have outlived my cancer by years, sticking around just a bit longer to annoy the hell out of everyone. Peace out!
