Kandace Kandy
(Seward) Farnon
Sep 28, 1966 — Feb 29, 2024
Kandace "Kandy" (Seward) Farnon, 57, of Eliot, ME, after a year-long battle with cancer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by close family on the morning February 29, 2024.
Born in Kittery, ME, and a lifelong resident of Eliot, Kandy was a beacon of community spirit and dedication. A proud graduate of Marshwood High School, she devoted twenty-four years to the Eliot School District as everyone's favorite school bus driver, known for her contagious smile and care. Kandy's unwavering dedication to the veteran community was evident through her remarkable twenty-five years of service to the York American Legion. There, she not only managed day-to-day operations with distinction but also poured her heart and soul into serving and supporting veterans.
Kandy's passion extended beyond her professional life into her love for nature and the outdoors. An avid gardener and adorned and maintained her flower gardens with beautiful flowers year after year. Her leisure time was spent embracing the sun, surf, and the joy of exploration, whether it was on the lakes and coastlines of Maine, or traversing trails on four-wheelers with her beloved husband, Jeff, by her side.
Kandy leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family, including her husband, Jeffry A. Farnon; daughters, Linnea M. LaPointe (Travis) and Shelby E. Minihane (Trevor Herrick); her cherished grandchildren, Elina M. and Joseph J.; her parents, Priscilla and Steven Crowley, and George Seward; siblings, Kari (Casey) White, Kristine Audet (Roger Wittner), Kelvin Seward (Karen Grimes Bates), and Kevin Seward; Stacey and Zach Donnell; and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her in-laws, Marlene and Thomas Farnon.
Kandy's extraordinary love for her children and grandchildren was unmatched, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her spirit, laughter, and the memories she created will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
Friends are invited to visit with her family at the JS Pelkey and Son Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery, ME, 03904 from 4-7 pm on March 11, 2024. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 am on March 12, at the First Congregational Church of Eliot 1361 State Road Eliot Maine 03903, followed by a reception at the York American Legion Post 56. Online condolences may be. Made by visiting www.jspelkeyfuneralhome,.com .
In Kandy's memory, her family requests donations to the York American Legion Post 56 in lieu of flowers or gifts, honoring her commitment to serving veterans and the community.
Kandy's go-to response of, "Bite me!" left a one-of-a-kind impression of her sarcasm, humor, and love for everyone she cared about. No words will ever describe how truly beautiful Kandy was inside and out.
