Milton - Karen Denise Fortier passed away on February 3, 2023, peacefully with her family by her side. Karen
was born on July 3, 1949 in Concord, NH.

Karen lived her life by the motto "Life is a ride, enjoy the journey". She married the love of her life,
Richard, in 1975 and never stopped loving him after his death in 1991. Before Karen got sick, you would
often see her being the life of the party. She loved to sing karaoke with "These Boots are Made for
Walking" and "White Rabbit" being two of her favorites. She loved playing games on Facebook and
made many friends from all over the world. Karen was always witty and quick with a joke to make you
laugh. She faced death straight on because she knew that she would finally be back with her beloved Richard.

She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Karen is survived by daughter, Melissa Sousa (Kevin), daughter, Kelly Marti (Ed), son, Joseph Fortier;
grandchildren Kyle Sprague (Joslynn); Lance Atkinson-Pelchat (Sarah); Kelsey Elliott; Morgan Angers
(Brandon); Bradley Fortier and Keira Kilkenny; great-grandchildren, Brendan Sprague, Joel Sprague,
Bayleigh Raucci, Lance Atkinson-Pelchat, Brooke Raucci, Serenity Atkinson-Pelchat and Liliana Angers. In
addition, she is survived by two special friends, Diane Bumford and Lisa Riley, several nieces and
nephews, along with her countless Facebook friends.

Karen was predeceased by her husband, Richard M. Fortier, her granddaughter, Kayleigh Sprague, her
mother, Catherine Deem and her grandmother, Hannah Deem

There will be no services. There will be a private family burial in the spring at Mount Calvary Cemetery
in Somersworth, NH. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Karen's memory to Furrr Feline Rescue, 73 Pickering Road
Unit 99, Rochester, NH 03839. Care for the Fortier family has been entrusted to the Bernier Funeral Home.
