Obituary

Rochester, NH - Katherine Contant Rowan, born May 25 th , 1977, beloved daughter of Carroll and Mary Jane (Perry) Rowan, passed away on April 5 th , 2019, after suffering from a chronic disease.

Born in Portland, Maine, Katie was brought home to Kittery at 5 weeks old. She attended the Kittery Schools and graduated with honors from Robert W. Traip Academy in 1995. Katie then went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science in psychology from the University of Southern Maine, and a later while living and working in Boston, a Masters from the Boston University Medical School in Psychology. Moving back to Maine She worked a number of years in Portland at various psychiatric hospitals.

She moved from Portland to Concord, NH, and lived there working in part time jobs until she moved to Rochester, NH, shortly after giving birth to her beloved son, Oliver Rowan Pandolph. Born three months premature, at 2lbs, 1 ounce, Oliver spent the first three months of his life at Hitchcock Memorial hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care-Unit

She and Oliver lived in Rochester these last three years, Katie working part time as her health would allow.

Besides her beloved son Ollie, she leaves behind her brother, Patrick C. Rowan, his wife Michelle Monroe Rowan, and her niece Hannah Jayne of Kittery, Maine, plus many loving aunts, uncles and cousins on both the Rowan and Perry sides of the family.

Katie was a girl who loved horses, home, family, holidays, the beach, and most of all her little boy, Ollie. She will be greatly missed.

There will be visiting hours/luncheon reception on Saturday, April 13 th , at the First Congregational Church of Kittery Point Parish House, from 1 to 4, all welcome. There will be no service. Later in the spring the family will have a private ceremony to inter Katie's ashes.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent in her name to David's House, 461 Mt. Support Road, Lebanon, NH, 03766. David's house provides beautiful lodging for families with children needing long hospitalizations at Hitchcock Memorial hospital. Katie and Ollie's father spent almost three months living there while Oliver was in the NIC-U (Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit) at Hitchcock Memorial Hospital.

Care of the Rowan Family has been entrusted to the J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
