Durham, New Hampshire - Kathryn M. Tice, 81, formerly of Kittery, Maine, passed away on February 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous fight with dementia at Brookdale of Spruce Woods Senior Living in Durham, New Hampshire. Kathryn was born December 9th, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts. Daughter of the late Edmund and Mary (Close) Skelly, and raised in Hyde Park, MA.
On December 8, 1962, Kathy married the love of her life, Jerry Tice. They were happily married for 59 years until the passing of Jerry Tice in May 2022. Initially settling in Hyde Park, MA, until Jerry was transferred to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1973, Kathy and Jerry established their home in Kittery. Kathy worked locally initially. You would have seen her in the local banks as a teller. After her banking career, Kathy began working in the medical industry as a receptionist at Pease Air Force Base Hospital, then joined the Kittery Ophthalmic Association, where she spent most of her time. Kathy retired in 2018.
Kathy was active in many activities. Often, you would see her supporting her children in sporting and school activities. As the family grew, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren on vacation and watching them participate in sports and other activities. In addition, Kathy enjoyed socializing with her friends, playing games, and attending events. Kathy and Jerry enjoyed traveling with family and friends and were especially fond of cruising among the Caribbean islands, Bermuda, and Alaska. Her trip to Ireland was one that meant a lot to her because of her family heritage. She also volunteered with Table of Plenty.
