Somersworth- Laure Y. Couture, 87, of 3 Cemetery Road, died Thursday January 22, 2015 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover. Laure was born in Somersworth on April 7, 1927 and was the daughter of William and Albertine (St. Pierre) Gonthier. She attended St. Martin School and has been a former employee of Somesworth Shoe Company and Robert Shoe for several years. She was a member of the Disabled American Veteran's Auxillary Unit #5 of Dover, NH. Survivors include her daughter, Estelle (Couture) Fontain and her husband Albert of Berwick, ME; two grandchildren , Lisa Odom and her husband Ryan of Epsom, and Eric Fontaine and his wife Rachel of Berwick, one great grandchild, Griffin Odom of Epsom. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2008, and her son Edmond on January 22, 2013 and a brother Paul Gonthier. Her hobbies included crocheting and playing her violin and organ. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother,great grandmother and good friend. Her family extends thanks to everyone for the care and support received during this difficult time. Friends may visit with her family on Tuesday from 9-1030 am in the Bernier Funeral Home 49 South Street Somersworth, NH 03878. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am in St. Martin Church with Fr. Michael Taylor as celebrant.
