Somersworth- Laurence Georgette (Lance) Hopkins, of 381 High St. in Somersworth, NH, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 22nd, 2015 at Riverside Rest Home. Born on June 13, 1925 in Somersworth, NH; she was the daughter of Albert and Lumina (Perreault) Demers. Lance attended Saint Martin's School and Somersworth High School. Early on Lance worked as a secretary at Somersworth Shoe. She later started her career with Signal Auto Supply as a bookkeeper. She was with Signal for thirty seven years doing various office operations including inventory management and accounting. Lance was known for her green thumb and way around a garden. She loved to travel, try different restaurants, crocheting, and golfing with her husband, Richard and sister, Vi and her husband, Nel. Above all Lance loved spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Laurette, Antoinette (Toni), Vi, Maddy, and Claire. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty five years, Richard; sons Wayne and his wife Marie of Lebanon, ME and Scott and his wife Cindy of Waterboro, ME; grandchildren Justin, Jon, Patrick, Steven, Timothy, Andrew, Sarah, Ian; and great grandchildren Corbin, Shawn, Olivia, Byron, and Jackson. A celebration of love and life will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday July 30, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 404 High St., Somersworth. Burial will take place immediately following Mass at Holy Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Riverside Rest Home, Unit 5.
