Lawrence L. Estes passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born September 16, 1932, in York, Maine, to Samuel C. and Alice Langille Estes.

Lawrence graduated from Traip Academy in the class of 1950 and soon after he married Barbara Tilton (a classmate) in 1951. They lived in the same house in Kittery for all their 73 years of marriage. He retired from Simplex Wire & Cable (Tyco).

As a young boy he lobstered with his grandfather and passed his love of the ocean and lobstering to his family, who inherited his love and respect for the ocean and all water activities.

Lawrence is preceded in his passing by his parents, brother Frank, and sisters Phyllis Estes Ladrie and Norma Estes Gerry. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, sons Larry B. Estes, Alan W. and wife Nancy (Hackney) Estes, daughter Nancy J. (Estes) and husband Ray Hamel, as well as 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for their care and support. Per his request there will be no services.
