Lawrence D. Morton's Obituary
Eliot ~ Lawrence Dana Morton, 86, a long time resident of Eliot, passed away on May 12, 2017 at his home. Born and raised in Canton, Massachusetts; he was the son of Dana Sawyer and Myrta Anne (Watson) Morton.
Following school he joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 4 years. During his service he met and married his loving wife, Shirley J (LaPointe) Morton. Eventually they settled in Eliot, Maine where they raised their family.
Larry was known throughout the seacoast, where he touched many homes & lives through his talent for carpentry and construction.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley to whom he was married for 53 years. He is survived by his children; Stephen D Morton of Rochester, NH, Timothy L and daughter in law Laurie A Morton of Eliot, and daughter Kimberly Morton-Cates of Barrington, NH. Grandchildren; Jason Morton of Berwick, Melissa Morton of Rochester, NH, Christopher Morton of Eliot, Heather Currier of Somersworth, NH, Michael Morton of North Berwick, and Kayla A and James T Cates of Barrington, NH. He also leaves behind 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday May 17, from 6-8pm at the JS Pelkey Funeral Home in Kittery Maine. The funeral service will be held on Thursday May 18 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
