Obituary

Somersworth - Lea E. (Vachon) Gagne Grady, 95, passed away on June 30, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born in Somersworth, graduated from St. Martin's Academy. She was employed by Stein's Shoe Mfg. as a stitcher and as a shoe model. She excelled as a homemaker, wife and mother. Lea was the widow of Larry Gagne who passed away in 1948 of polio. After 5 years a widow, she married James J. Grady and raised 4 children. She will be remembered with much love by her family. Lea was a wonderful mother and a loving Meme to all who were in need of one. Her gracious smile and generous spirit will always be held close to her family's heart. She leaves her four children, Robert Gagne, Jeannine Bisson Hudson, James J. Grady, Jr. and Ronald W. Grady; and predeceased by her son Gerard O. Gagne. Also her grandchildren: Kathy Sylvain, Claudette Binette, Donna Roy, Michael Bisson, Timothy Bisson, Nancy Abrams, Jennifer Whitten, Kathy Skolny, Edgar Grady, Kevin Merritt, Karen Brunelas, Peggy Chouinard, Patty Riordan, Bill Hudson. Great grandchildren: Larry Sylvain, Jonathan Sylvain, Jason Binette, J'Aime Binette Beiter, Stephen Roy, Jr., Stephanie Bostrom, Danielle Lea Bisson White, Jebson Politte, Joab Persijn, Zachary Persijn, Kazmier Skolny, Michael Grady, Malea Grady, Michael Driscoll and Alex Driscoll. Great-Great grandchildren: Connor Sylvain, Colin Sylvain, Aiden Roache, Amelia Beiter, Jillian Rae White, Charlie Driscoll; many nieces and nephews and friends. Predeceased by Jill Bisson Politte, Wayne Merritt, Kevin Grady, Penny Jean Bisson. Predeceased by her siblings: Ida Fogarty, Richard Vachon, Arthur Vachon, Valmore Vachon, Palma (Pat) Corbin, Irene Seger and Pauline Bergeron. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Martin Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 120 Maple Street, Somersworth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
